The 5th STÖBER inverter generation is completed by an extremely high-performance family member, the POSIDYN® SDS 5000. Use of the latest technologies gives an outstanding price/performance ratio. The form factor is identical to the POSIDRIVE® FDS 5000 and POSIDRIVE® MDS 5000 device series already available, which means simple integration in existing control cabinet designs.
A particular highlight is the remote maintenance concept introduced with the POSIDYN® SDS 5000 for the first time. This concept tackles a number of requirements which are completely disregarded in most of the solutions available on the market. For example, accidental or unauthorised changes are impossible with the POSIDYN® SDS 5000. A clearly defined organisational and technical procedure ensures that responsibilities are properly allocated.
It is not just the What but also the How that corresponds in the remote maintenance system 1:1 to the sequence that would proceed if the service engineer were on site. The local operator initiates a remote maintenance request. This is easy for him to do, e.g. via the PLC or directly on the device and the service engineer is then instructed and authorised to work on the machine. This operation also makes it clear to the local operator that he is responsible for personal safety.
The self-configuring Integrated Bus (IGB) is fitted as standard on the POSIDYN® SDS 5000 servo inverter. Many different real time communication and functional concepts between a number of servo inverters and interfaces can be controlled with this technology. Each POSIDYN® SDS 5000 in the IGB network transmits cyclic data on the IGB motion bus and can access the data in the network for itself. A field bus (e.g. PROFIBUS, CAN, EtherCAT) can be used as an option for communication with a primary controller.
