Terahertz-Technology allows the contactless and non-destructive testing of various non-conductive materials (e.g. composites / GFRP, plastics, paper / carton, ceramics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals). This technology is an interesting alternative to the quality control by X-ray radiation.Through THz-Spectoscropy the chemical characteristics of materials (e.g. of explosives or food) can be analysed. THz-Imaging creates images of the internal structures of materials, which enables the researchers of RECENDT to detect defects, inclusions and delaminations. With Terahertz Technology the measurement of layer thickness can be realised, also if the layer is beyond the surface (buried layers).A current research result is a fibre-coupled THz-system. This system allows the physical separation of the detector head and the measuring system. For this reason the new system can be optimally used for industrial applications.RECENDT developes individual solutions according to the needs of our clients.
