Fernando Turner Dávila is currently the Secretary of Economy and Labor of the State Government of Nuevo Leon. He is also chairman of the board and former CEO at Katcon, S.A.
As a global entrepreneur, his main expertise is in the auto industry, in which Katcon, his main achievement, has manufacturing plants in the United States, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia.
In addition to his accolades at Katcon, his business interests span through technology enterprises, the food industry, and real estate development. For these activities, he was appointed chairman and CEO at Bienes Turgón and Food Solutions from 1983-2009.
Prior to this, Mr. Turner was the corporate treasurer at Grupo Industrial Alfa in Monterrey from 1976-1982, and at Altos Hornos de México from 1966-1976. He serves as professor at the Graduate School of Business at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), is a patron at Fundación RENACE, A.C., and a guest columnist at El Norte newspaper.
Mr. Turner was elected President of the National Association of Independent Businessmen, A.C. in 2006, and has received a CPA from ITESM and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
