Dr.-Ing. Heiko Koziolek is a Senior Principal Scientist at ABB Corporate Research in Ladenburg. He leads research projects on software architectures for industrial process control and coordinated different projects on sustainable architectures. He also consults ABB software development units for the design of large-scale software systems. He studied computer science at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and obtained a PhD in software engineering supported by a scholarship of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the research training group "TrustSoft". His research is concerned with performance prediction for software systems as well as analyzing software maintainability and have been cited in thousands of scientific articles. His article on the Palladio Component Model was ranked 37 on a list of Top 100 annually cited software engineering papers. He has won four "Best-Paper Awards" at international conferences. He is co-author of the book "Modeling and Simulating Software Architecture" published by MIT Press in 2016. He serves on the program committee of the world-wide leading conferences on software engineering (ICSE) and software architecture (ICSA) and has reviewed for the leading journals "IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering" and "Journal of Systems and Software". Additionally he is a member of the Plattform Industrie 4.0, working group "Reference Architecture and Standards" as well as the ZVEI working group "Models and Standards". He has published works on RAMI 4.0, Industrie 4.0 Asset Administration Shells and automated commissioning using industry standards.
