Prof. Dr. Eric Bodden is a leading expert on secure software engineering worldwide. He is the head of the software engineering group of the Paderborn University as well as director for software engineering of the Fraunhofer Research Institute for Mechatronic Systems Design (IEM). He manages research and development projects with partners from industry, including partners from the mechanical and industrial engineering sector. . In one of these projects, he supports automation specialist Phoenix Contact in optimizing their engineering processes conformant to IEC 62443 standards.
In 2016, professor Bodden’s research group won the German IT-Security contest. In 2014, the German Research Foundation DFG awarded him with the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize, the highest distinction for young German researchers. Since 2013, he is member of the BITKOM management club.
