Carlos Alba leads the Digital and TechnoEconomic global research programs Worldwide within Global R&D in ArcelorMittal across divisions, regions and functions. Digital core technologies as artificial intelligence or mathematical optimization are systematically merged with ArcelorMittal value chain while we are progressively introducing others as internet of things or big data analytics. This includes manufacturing, procurement, commercial, supply chain, logistics, strategy and product development. Carlos joined the ArcelorMittal Global Research & Development corporate team in 2007 focusing his activity on artificial intelligence models applied to business optimization Companywide (Europe, Americas and ACIS). He holds a PhD Master Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Oviedo, Spain, where in parallel he teaches for the last 14 years in its Engineering Schools (Mining, Industrial, Telecommunications, Computer Science).
