Christian is co-founder and CTO of the A.I. startup Twenty Billion Neurons (20bn). Founded in 2015 and based in Berlin and Toronto, 20bn is a research oriented company. It is focusing on Deep Learning, the most effective approach to the creation of systems that solve real-world problems using AI.
Christian is an entrepreneur and A.I. researcher with 15 years of experience. He holds a PhD in Machine Learning and has published more than 50 scientific papers on a broad range of topics including Computer Vision, Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, and Behavioral Analytics. Christian has worked at renowned research institutes such as the Center for Machine Perception in Prague, the Fraunhofer IAIS in Bonn, and is a Marie Curie fellow of the EU. He co-founded the Big Data startup Game Analytics (sold to Mobvista) in Copenhagen in 2011, and worked as technical lead of the data science team at the Unbelievable Machine Company in Berlin.
He developed neural networks that learned to play Video Games in 2003, achieved one of the first implementations of Convolutional Neural Networks on GPUs in 2008, and is now focused on building 20bn's tech infrastructure & A.I. backend.
