Additive Manufacturing

Straight from a 3D model to a finished product – simple creation of complex shapes

Marketplace for innovations in manufacturing

Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing is all set to take industry by storm. Following on from the success of 3D printers, new machines are now entering the market that are capable of producing finished products as opposed to mere prototypes. These machines deposit material – layer by layer – on the basis of 3D computer data. To this end new industrial materials have been developed that easily match their conventional equivalents in terms of performance and reliability.

The display category Additive Manufacturing at HANNOVER MESSE is a new platform where innovations can be showcased together. The focus will be on IT systems for the processing of 3D models as a basis for additive manufacturing. This will tie in closely with the trade fair IAMD , where the latest automation methods and tools are on show.

At the special display Additive Manufacturing Plaza visitors can experience the process from 3D to end product and thus gain a fascinating insight into additive manufacturing. It will be one of the trade fair highlights.

  • Generation, acquisition and scanning of 3D models
  • Processing of 3D models for additive manufacturing
  • Industrial additive manufacturing machines
  • 3D printers

Additive Manufacturing Symposium

Additive manufacturing: Efficiency gains for development engineering, production and other applications

3D printing is revolutionizing the world of industrial manufacturing. Among its many uses are on-the-fly prototyping for product engineering and design, the creation of high-performance manufacturing tools, or resource-friendly ways of achieving continuous operations. By getting the full picture on additive product engineering and manufacturing, you can unlock utterly new potential for your business.

Real-world applications of additive manufacturing will be presented at the international Additive Manufacturing Symposium on 21 April 2020, featuring leading makers of AM equipment as well as successful users of additively manufactured components.

The agenda will be rounded off by a special Additive Manufacturing Guided Tour (in German and English) taking participants to selected exhibitors who will present their AM solutions and innovations.

Call for Papers – Additive Manufacturing Symposium

13 December 2019 is the deadline for submitting your lecture proposal for the 6th Additive Manufacturing Symposium. Your lecture can be on any of the following topics:

  • 3D metal printing
  • Additive manufacturing applications – Best practice examples from user companies
  • 3D printing with non-metal materials

Please submit your lecture proposal by completing and sending us the official Call for Papers form. A time slot of about 20 minutes will be allocated for each lecture. Lectures can be given in either English or German.

The selection of lectures is at the sole discretion of the Additive Manufacturing Association in the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and Deutsche Messe.
