Apple and SAP want more machine learning

According to the two CEOs , they aim to help SAP customers develop their own mobile SAP business applications using Apple’s machine learning technology. The two companies also plan to make augmented reality (AR) available on iPhones or iPads for business purposes, for example as machinery repair support. Both companies have been working together since 2016 to develop mobile apps for the SAP portfolio and run SAP solutions on Mac computers.

SAP furthermore wants to expand its range of apps to the Mac and MacOS. The new apps are above all expected to measure up to the user-friendliness and performance of iOS applications and bring them to the desktop. SAP customers are also to be provided with “Fast Start” packages that facilitate the cost-effective and rapid implementation of iOS solutions. There are currently nine offerings from six partners, mainly for industries with a machine learning deficit, including retailers, the consumer goods industry, utilities and manufacturing companies.
