“Would it help you to have legally valid digital versions of all your usual paperwork, e.g. accompanying transport information or customs documents?” This was the question Bitkom Research asked on behalf of digital association Bitkom in a representative survey of 514 companies with 50+ employees and logistics processes. 9 out of 10 companies surveyed (88%) stated that it would help them (38%) or help them a lot (50%) to have legally valid digital versions of transport documents.
To date, accompanying transport documents or customs documents have always had to be presented in paper form when transporting goods – and there can be a great deal many of them. An EU initiative for electronic documents for freight carriage has therefore been launched. All EU citizens and organizations are welcome to participate in the consultation survey.
