The ultra lightweight seat has been made possible by the xFK in 3D process, developed by Automotive Management Consulting (AMC) from Upper Bavaria. Fiber composite components made of glass, carbon, basalt and other natural fibers can be wrapped in this way and thus produced in three dimensions. Ultralight structures can be made with this continuous fiber, while material waste is reduced to a minimum. Comparable seats weigh at least 12 kg, which often does not include the substructure. The seat made using xFK in 3D is therefore at least 20% lighter, and that includes the substructure.

In addition to AMC, the engineering service provider CSI Entwicklungstechnik and the firms Alba Tooling & Engineering , the manufacturer of adhesive raw materials Covestro , the companies 3D Core , LBK , Robert Hofmann and Lightweight Technologies Forum (LTF) and the trade fair organizer Reed Exhibitions have been involved in the project.
