Lightweighting is a key enabling technology that is used across a whole range of different sectors – from aircraft, to shipping and road transport, through to manufacturing. It is a driver of innovation, jobs, and prosperity.

I am therefore delighted that the HANNOVER MESSE will feature two top lightweighting highlights.

The Integrated Lightweight Plaza not only involves an exhibition, but it also offers many opportunities for inspiring discussions and dialogue that can lead to cooperation on joint solutions. This year, a new Lightweighting Summit will take place, where key players from government, business and research will come together to advance their discussion.

Our goal is clear: we want to bring lightweighting into broad industrial use and to make Germany the leading market for lightweighting technology so that we are frontrunners on the markets of tomorrow.
