The German AMA Association for Sensor Technology and Measurement Technology surveys every quarter its 460 members regarding their economic development . Although sales in the second quarter decreased by 4% compared to the first quarter of 2018, the industry generated a significant increase of 13% over the same period in 2017. "The industry is doing very well. As such fluctuations from one quarter to the next are not uncommon, the industry expects the previous long-term trend of around 6.5% annual growth to continue," says AMA Managing Director Thomas Simmons about the current situation.

Further parameters confirm the positive overall development in sensor and measurement technology. AMA members recorded a 5% increase in new orders in the second quarter of 2018 over the previous quarter. In view of these figures, the companies are optimistic about the future and expect sales to grow by 7% in the third quarter of 2018.
