Since 2016 UPS has been working with the British company Arrival , which specializes in lightweight electric utility vehicles. Several prototypes have been made in the last two years, and UPS has now unveiled the model that is to go into series production.

The company is keeping most of the details close to its chest, however. The only certainty is that the chassis of the vans will be made of a light composite material and that they will have a wrap-around windscreen that offers a perfect view all round. The range is to be over 240 km – beating any other van currently available. An Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) will support the driver and increase safety.

UPS initially intends to trial the vehicles in Paris and London and has ordered 35 Arrival vans for delivery in 2018. In 2017, the Royal Mail in the UK also ordered nine vans from Arrival.
