When engineering IIoT/Industry 4.0 software applications, the requirements of IT users (from the plant construction and mechanical and electrical engineering) have to be aligned with the capabilities of a developing IIoT/Industry 4.0 service platform. These platform capabilities are described by software developers and architects, hence, in most cases, they do not match with the language of the users with respect to terminology and formalism. This presentation describes how this gap may be closed by means of the agile software development methodology entitled SERVUS and existing IT standards. This methodology is getting more and more important for the engineering of integrated product-service-systems.
