Description

Due to the language-barrier many talks and presentations cannot reach the whole of their potential audiences. The in-house developed KIT's Speech-to-Speech-Technology can fill this gap, in the circumstances, where a human interpreter would be too costly. The KIT's Lecture Translator is worldwide the first automatic, simultaneous translation system. At the KIT it is in active operations since 2012. It has since then simplified the academic studies of foreign students in Germany. But there are more possible applications then just inside the lecture hall. The System is capable of operating in many different situations, e.g. parliamentary debates, translating online training courses or speeches. Cooperations with various German Universities, industries and the European Parliament have already be initiated.
