COGEN Europe will present the latest cogeneration trends from Europe, as new cogeneration technologies and business models emerge to respond to a growing need for flexibility and system efficiency. There is an increase in on-site cogeneration in buildings and businesses, including fuel cell micro-cogeneration. Furthermore, cogeneration connected to district heating is growing thanks to better local planning. Increasing awareness about decarbonising heat in buildings and industry creates opportunities for cogeneration. COGEN Europe will demonstrate these trends with the results from major European projects, including PACE, ene.field and CODE2, and will focus on the necessary policy framework to unlock the potential of cogeneration in Europe, as the European Union is currently debating the 2030 energy and climate framework.
