Description

With the growing complexity of smart manufacturing and new business models in global markets, it is becoming increasingly important to identify risks early. Especially by adding "intelligent" functions and connecting devices to company networks or the internet. However, enhanced functionality and connectivity can compromise the security of such systems, up to and including complete production processes.
Some basic measures can already be defined in the product design process to increase the cybersecurity of the connected systems. UL expert Alexander Köhler presents these principles and weights them according to their importance for the development of IoT applications and their use in industry 4.0.
