Perspectives and challenges concerning their use for industrial and service purposes
Digital assistance systems create the potential to shape new working environments in which modern technology is not only used to relieve workers of heavy, monotonous tasks, but also to assist them in activities that are challenging in terms of their cognitive complexity. They are also used to improve the quality of work, foster work processes that are conducive to learning and innovation and improve opportunities to become a participant in the working world. Psychological aspects relating to work and motivation are key to the success and acceptance of digital assistance systems. They should be addressed in the context of a human-centered design process in which the end-users are involved. This lecture presents the latest results of a study that evaluates future skill requirements in terms of their supportability by digital assistance systems. In addition, the lecture presents a systematic design process for the development and introduction of digital assistance systems.
