What is presented?

A team of researchers has developed environmentally-friendly polymer coatings for maritime applications, which impair the adhesion of marine organisms. Several scientific approaches to these coatings will be presented.

What is special?

These coatings are a novel and environmentally-friendly polymer system, which can make the use of biocides like copper components and similar substances unnecessary.

What are the potentials?

These easy-to-clean coatings have potential for applications beyond the maritime sector, which are also subjected to biofouling, like industrial food production and biomedical applications in a general clinical context.
