FVA e.V., the German Research Institute for Drive Technology, is committed to the goal of developing an industry-wide standard for the exchange of gear unit data. The interface is being developed in close cooperation with industry and research under the name REXS (Reusable Engineering EXchange Standard). An important milestone for Industry 4.0 is the establishment and propagation of standards. An extensive documentation of the REXS specification is freely available under www.rexs.info and was released under a Creative Commons license. Starting with version 5.0, the FVA-Workbench supports the export and import of REXS models. The presentation will introduce the REXS interface and demonstrate the easy exchange of models between the FVA-Workbench and BEARINX.
