Many manufacturing companies are confronted with rising raw material prices. In order to be economically successful and to save resources, an efficiency strategy is required that meets todays challenges. Therefore, the medium-sized companies in our Good Practice examples have decided to take a closer look at their material losses. Material flow cost accounting (MFCA) helped them to do this. High material costs also characterize the market in which Junker Filter is active. MFCA revealed its strategic potential and delivered valuable results from which the management could derive strategic recommendations for improvement. In the case of C&C Bark, necessary melting processes lead to high material and energy costs and are therefore an important starting point for resource efficiency measures. MFCA identified inefficiencies and initiated a reassessment of internal recycling processes.
