Until recently, it was only possible to adapt automation solutions to new circumstances to a limited extent or at great expense. Once inspected, the automation system would not be touched again.

With Industrial Edge, it is possible to provide devices with the latest functions continuously through a central management system and thus adapt plants to special environmental conditions. This is achieved in particular by separating edge functionality and the classic automation system. Digitalization functions can be performed on the edge device and can be kept at the cutting edge of technology through fast update cycles. In this way, plants always remain up-to-date and efficient.

In this presentation, we will look at the concept and some already implemented use cases.
