HANNOVER MESSE 2020,
20 - 24 April
Many components are not loaded uniformly over the entire surface of the component, but usually have stress peaks at the areas where the load is applied. This is why metallic structures are often used in these areas. However, lower density materials such as continuous fiber reinforced plastics can be used in the less stressed areas in order to achieve a lower component weight. Such components are also called hybrid components. In the lecture the advantages of such concepts will be presented on the basis of several examples. In addition, production solutions for hybrid components will be explained. In summary, the KraussMaffei production solutions make it possible to implement various lightweight construction concepts. These will be presented in the lecture.
