The classic dosing pump has reached a high technological level in decades of development, but mechanical limits are sometimes set in the drive. In order to expand the application possibilities for the current diaphragm metering pump technology, it is necessary to use new drive systems such as linear motor technology. A linear motor is an electric drive unit which transmits the oscillating delivery movement of the dosing pumps directly to the displacer (e.g. hydraulic piston, diaphragm) without any mechanics, so that highly dynamic movements can be carried out with highest precision and an individual kinematic profile. This system offers the possibility of being able to optimally adapt to the various processes in the various applications, even special cases such as control range 1:200 or highly viscous media can be solved with it. Using the example of gas odorization and filling processes it is shown how the customers process requirements can be technologically solved or even optimized.
