Since development of reference models and use cases has been developed all over the world, IEC and ISO create the joint working group to promote a unified reference model. But there are no guides about how to utilize reference models and use cases for Smart Manufacturing system developers. So German-Japan IoT collaboration project develops ?Unified Reference Model ? Map and Methodology (URM-MM)? as the guide tool. URM-MM was promoted to IEC and IEC System Committee Smart Manufacturing has been discussing about a domain navigation tool establishment with URM-MM as an initial input. Even with URM-MM, it is hard to handle tremendous diversity of enterprise type and their maturity level in their navigation, so German-Japan IoT collaboration project discusses a new scheme to cover that diversity.
