Additive manufacturing offers an enormous potential for industrial applications in the prototype sector as well as in the series production through a significant increase in design freedom compared to conventional manufacturing processes. In order to successfully address not only these new opportunities of design freedom, but also the advantages in terms of speed and productivity in development as well as in series production, a holistic networking of the AM production is required. In this presentation, the topic of networking in the field of additive manufacturing will be addressed as well as possibilities and challenges will be highlighted. On this basis, it will be shown how the PROTIQ GmbH realizes an intelligent networking around its digital business model.
