Orwell or Roddenberry? What will Smart Glasses change at the workplace in production and service?

Having hands-free and receiving information at the same time. This is what Smart Glasses can provide for application cases in service, production and maintenance. Applications fields range from remote support to intuitive augmented reality instructions.

The presentation gives an overview about current state-of-the-art hardware and software. It takes a look at the potentials but also the disadvantages of the new technologies. In some industrial application cases the usage of smart glasses and the corresponding different technologies is explained.

Besides a lot of productive industrial use cases, the presentation also shows the results of the Industrie 4.0 Testbed ExpertSHARE, founded by the German BMBF, and gives a look into the coming future.
