As things stand today, complex projects in mechanical engineering and plant construction are digitally planned by many parties involved (various suppliers, planning offices, project planners, etc.) in a wide variety of software applications and systems (MS Excel, Access, OpenSource, etc.). With the start of construction, these digital data (time schedules, CAD, quantity structure/parts lists, layouts, etc.) are fed back into the analogue - i.e. printed out again - and brought to the construction site; a media break occurs. COMAN takes a new approach from here and offers a platform on which all data can be integrated and, visually prepared, made available to all parties involved in real time. COMAN is an intelligent, central data hub that will make the worldwide controlling, monitoring and reporting of large construction projects with many participants much more efficient, resource-saving and transparent through the innovative use of Smart Objects.
