This presentation introduces the concept of Self-Service Manufacturing Apps and explains how these can help manufacturing leaders drive their digital transformation from the bottom-up to gain competitive advantages through more efficient operations. We will give an overview of the MIT research that led to the development of Self-Service Manufacturing Apps and the three pillars that sustain the technology: the no-code app editor, plug and play shop-floor IIoT and analytics. We will then go over real world examples to see how self-serve Manufacturing Apps are helping companies around the world, such as GE, New Balance and Dentsply Sirona to accelerate their digital transformation and gain a competitive advantage. Specifically, we will see how manufacturers across verticals are using these apps to reduce the training time of their employees, eliminate quality errors, compile with regulation and obtain full visibility into their operations and drive real-time continuous-improvement.
