Description

Ductile iron (spheroidal graphite cast iron) is a cost-effective and resource-saving construction material. In 2016, around 25 million tons of castings were produced worldwide in this material group. This production volume reflects the attractiveness of the material, which is characterized by an extremely wide range of properties. The usability for components of, for example, wind turbines, drives, valves, treatment machines and turning/milling machines is driven by the material properties. Meuselwitz Guss manufactures ductile iron castings in the weight range from 150kg to 80t. In order to realize the individual and customer-specific requirements metallurgical and molding methods are used for example. The introduction of EN-GJS-600-10 illustrates how material innovations are implemented at Meuselwitz.
