Research and development company EMACH designs and prototypes following types of energy-efficient motors for electric drives manufacturers: 1) Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRM) without magnets which have lower production cost compared to induction motors (IM) and synchronous motor with rare-earth magnets on the rotor (PMSM). Due to unique rotor geometry SynRM developed by EMACH have higher efficiency than of commercially available IM, PMSM, SynRM 2) Permanent Magnet assisted SynRM (PMaSynRM) which are obtained by adding cheap ferrite magnets in the rotor SynRM. PMaSynRM has higher efficiency and power factor and reduced size than SynRM has 3) Motor with magnets on the stator (MMS) which has a simple toothed rotor. Due to the magnetic gear effect MMS can produce extremely high torque and efficiency. For manufacturing MMS it is required twice less rare-earth magnets than for manufacturing PMSM. MMS is much cheaper than PMSM 4) SynRM, PMaSynRM and MMS can be designed as generators.
