Product description

The principles of advanced oxidation could be applied for solving many novel challenges in the water sector - emerging pollutants in the municipal wastewater, complex composition of effluents in different industrial processes, bacteria spores and toxic compounds leaching from melting permafrost, bioterrorism threat for drinking water supplies, transportation of invasive organisms in the ballast water of cargo ships, etc. The competences of our Innovative Environmental Technology research team are focusing on already tested model bench-scale complex advanced oxidation system. The combined water treatment system, consisting of non-thermal plasma reactor for ozone generation and photocatalysis unit can increase wastewater treatment efficiency up to 99.9% with low energy consumption requirements, reaching 0.1-6 MJ per gram of total organic carbon, depending on the origin, composition and concentration of wastewater. Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) technique, installed in this system, is one of the most efficient for generation of ozone and other oxidative species in non-thermal plasma produced by electrical discharges. Our group is well experienced in testing, modifying and applying such a technology and we are ready to upgrade technology readiness level from TRL4 to TRL6.
