M.G.M. brake motors are asynchronous three-phase totally enclosed fan cooled motors (TEFC). The motors brake in case of power supply failure. The braking action is obtained without shaft axial sliding and it provides equal braking torque in both directions of rotation. M.G.M. brake motors are designed and assembled as real brake motors. The perfect engineering and assembling combined with a strong and safe brake, make these motors very reliable. The brake disc lining material is asbestos free with a high friction coefficient and a long lasting.The motors are provided in IP 54 enclosure rating and insulation class F.On request they can be provided as IP 55 or IP 56 enclosure ratings and with class H insulation.All M.G.M. motors are designed for inverter duty. On request it is possible to supply the motors with the encoder. M.G.M. brake motors series are BA and BM.The BA series consists of three phase asynchronous TEFC brake motors. The BA series range starts from IEC71 up to IEC315 frame size. As standard the brake power supply is AC 3-phase (DC brake is available on request). All BA serie-motors are provided with manual brake release. BA series main features are a very quick braking action, a very high braking torque, a constant braking time, and a very high number of start/stop cycles also under severe applications.The BM series consists of three phase, asynchronous TEFC brake motors. The BM series range starts from IEC56 up to IEC132 frame size. As standard the brake power supply is DC with a rectifier integrated in the terminal box. BM series main features are low braking noise, gradual acceleration during the motor start/stop and a reduced overall dimensions.Options available: progressive start/stop (PV series), double brake disc (BAF series), forced cooling (SV-AV).The SMI series consists of three-phase asynchronous electric motors without brake with integrated frequency inverter.
