WSN's Automated Material Supply Control System (AMS) as an eKanban solution addresses the typical material replenishment challenges, such as: manual data collection effort, human failure, and overstock at the production line. A dedicated network (WSNet) of sensors based on LPWAN radio technology automatically captures the specific material requirements in real time and sends the requests without any delay to the warehouse management system or ERP system.
Easily installed WSNet Roller Conveyor Sensors wirelessly report the current occupancy status of small load carrier (SLC) replenishment spots to the WSNet Gateway. Via WSNet-Call Buttons an immediate request for material in the case of LLC (large load carriers) takes place at the push of a button. Even in harsh industrial environments, reliable transmission over long distances is achieved by using WSNet wireless technology. The power consumption of the wireless sensors is so low that battery life of up to several years can be achieved. The system therefore operates autonomously in the field and does not require any existing infrastructure, such as power supply or W-(LAN) connection. Therefore, the AMS is also particularly suitable for pilot installations in which initial insights are to be gained in order to optimize the material replenishment processes.
For the connection of the central WSNet gateway to the ERP resp. Warehouse Management System we offer the following options:
1. the AMS Windows application and database as a functionally dedicated eKANBAN application with customized interface to the ERP / LVS,
2. direct data exchange with an SAP gateway (on premises or cloud-based) including an SAP Fiori app for control and visualization,
3. bidirectional communication with your own application via common interfaces and protocols (MQTT, REST, SOAP, HTTP (S), OPC-UA).
