Efficiency enhancement for biogas plants –degrading lignocellulose with the BMT-System®
With the BMT-System® (worldwide patent pending) upstream to a conventional biogas plant, input materials containing lignin and wood are made available as energy source. Therefore, a symbiotic mixture (brand name: LignoX®) of natural microorganisms of risk group 1 is added to the manure or secondary media of the biogas plant. Observing a temperature cascade, both components are heated to a defined reaction temperature and the resulting, activated hot manure cracks the lignin coating of the bound celluloses of e.g. straw. The now available carbohydrates significantly increase the gas yield of the biogas plant and allow the substitution of cost-intensive feedstocks.
