CAN in Automation
CAN in Automation maintains the CAN-based higher-layer protocol CANopen. CANopen, standardized in EN 50325-4, unburdens the developer from dealing with CAN hardware-specific details such as bit timing and acceptance filtering. It provides standardized communication objects (COB) for time-critical processes, configuration as well as network management data. It is based on CAN FD and adds new features to CANopen, such as the very flexible USDO service or an enhanced diagnostic memory.
