Product description

What is presented?

Methods of predictive control and real-time optimization for autonomous ship guidance, automated collision avoidance and fleet interaction developed at the Chair of Control Engineering at CAU Kiel are visualized and interactively demonstrated in a virtual environment.

What is special?

Systematic development of algorithms for assistance systems for the realization of automated and autonomous maritime vessels. This includes developments for time, energy or consumption optimized ship management and collision avoidance.

What are the potentials?

Greater automation of shipping offers potential for financial, energy and ecological savings and improvements. At the same time, safety increases as assistance systems relieve the crew and reduce the risk of human error.

Additional information:
The project will be presented by an exhibit at the CAU booth from Monday to Thursday. On Wednesday, April 3, at 12:00noon and 2:00pm, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Thomas Meurer will present "Control Engineering in Action" at the CAU booth stage. To the lecture:
