Screwing operations in industrial mounting require a high degree of sensitivity and flexibility, which is why they are executed mainly by humans or at so-called stop stations. With the solution developed at the FZI, it is possible to execute robust and at the same time adaptive conveyor screwing: The robot-independent force control flexibly adapts to the conveyor belt speed and can react to disruptions.
An AI-based screw detection as well as the protection of the solution against cyber-attacks also demonstrates concepts for the safe application of complex solutions in an interconnected industrial environment.
Conveyor screwing is enabled by:
• ROS-Industrial expertise for manufacturer-independent robot control
• Adaptivity through innovative manipulation strategies and robot-independent add-on force control
• Protection against attacks through participant authentication and data encryption on the basis of ROS2
