Product description

In cooperation with the Erich Utsch AG, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS Dresden has developed a structuring process that efficiently and safely transfers product protection features to vehicle registration plates during the embossing process. The basis technology is »Direct Laser Interference Structuring« (DLIP), which divides a coherent laser beam into two or more beams and superimposes them in a controlled manner on the embossing surface. The special feature of the developed process is that it produces a DLIP product protection feature in a fraction of the time currently required. In this way, the product protection feature can now be manufactured under normal conditions. The Fraunhofer IWS will be exhibiting an example of a vehicle registration number.
