Product description

With the new Fuel Polishing Module (FPM) HYDAC offers the opportunity of a 2-stage offline filtration for Diesel fuels to separate water and particulate contamination.

In consumer units with huge reservoirs, which are rarely in use and where the Diesel fuel is permanently »stored« (e.g. emergency power units), strong particulate residues on the tank bottom and an extremely high water content (e.g. through condensate water) in the reservoir occur. If the system is started, the pump typically sucks the surrounding particulate contamination and the filters as well as the system components may quickly block: System breakdown is the consequence. I.e. the unit is not available and in the same time high costs for service and repairs incur.

In the long-term, free water in the tank causes the generation of Diesel fouling (generation of micro-organism as types of bacteria, algae, mould fungus etc.) which can also lead to filter or component blocking. Through its water separation function the HYDAC FPM can therefore avoid an early and expensive disposal of the Diesel (due to uselessness through Diesel fouling).

Especially in the case of emergency supply units a system breakdown can have dramatic consequences (e.g. emergency supply units in nuclear power plants or at insurance companies). Therefore, the reliable use of the devices must always be guaranteed, in order to offer the highest security level that is possible.

- Emergency power units, where Diesel fouling can be generated when free water is in the tank.
- Organisations, that require highest reliability e.g. fire brigade
- Separation of tanks in machinery with long down times e.g. harvesting machinery
- Farmers with storage reservoirs
- Yachts and pleasure boats (The docking time in the harbour leads to Diesel degradation. The extremely humid environment is an additional disadvantage.)
