It also operates the Technological Research and Innovation Park, PIIT, the Nuevo Leon's Innovation Fund, the Nanotechnology Incubator and the Biotechnology Incubator of Nuevo Leon.

PIIT comprises about 150,000 M2 of Laboratories and Pilot Plants, two incubators for developing new businesses and new products in Biotechnology and Nanotechnology and is the source of employment to more than 3,000 scientists and technologists. With the addition of 40,000 M2 to house another 20 R&D centers in the next years, the expected number of high paid jobs in Science, Technology and Innovation will rise to more than 5,000 personnel working at PIIT.
