The indicator of ground faults and short-circuit currents MEg61.4 is designed for indication of an overhead MV line section with a ground fault or a short-circuit, and for remote indication. The indicator MEg61.4 can be installed on overhead MV line poles with plane arrangement of phase conductors. It indicates metallic, arcing and low impedance ground
faults and all types of short-circuits. It is primarily intended to be used in compensated MV networks but it may be used also in MV networks with grounded neutral point. The above states are indicated by sensing and evaluating magnetic and electric fi elds of phase conductors; for which three separate sensors located below the phase conductors are used.
