Product description

The IndLoc developed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits is a cost-effective solution for the three-dimensional, real-time positioning of multiple passive objects in a defined space and with a high degree of accuracy. To this end, a defined area of variable size is surrounded with a current-carrying conductor, which generates a weak alternating magnetic field in the enclosed region. The object being tracked carries a small passive coil resembling an RFID transponder. Within the monitored space, this localization coil generates a secondary magnetic field, which is detected by antennas and analyzed by the IndLoc system.
This allows barrier breaches along with the position, orientation, and motion of the object being tracked to be detected with high accuracy, without the need for active electronics. Suitable back-end software can be used to visualize or process the positioning data collected or allocate it to specific patterns. For example, it is possible to trigger predefined actions, such as alarm signals, in the event of a barrier breach.
