Oil analysis plays a central role for Chevron clients in the maintenance of machinery and plant operation. It ensures a smooth operation and optimum service life for the lubricating oil. At this year's Hannover Messe (Hall 27, Stand J50 / 6) Chevron presents its new oil analysis program LubeWatch, which allows users to check oil quality and engine performance regularly. LubeWatch helps optimize the service life of gas engines extend oil change intervals - the program uses an extensive database with a new online tracking system to offer a comprehensive picture of the oil quality and engine condition, which can be quickly transmitted to the customer.

A common problem is the use of conventional coolants which contain silicates. The thermal reaction of silicates causes deposits in the coolant circuit, which can, in turn, lead to significant engine damage due to overheating. The silicate layer can form a thermal barrier which prevents efficient engine cooling. This is particularly the case for high-efficiency CHP motors whose exhaust gas after-treatments place extra strain on the engine and should be run using silicate-free coolants. Chevron’s popular br...
Unlike aluminum variants, these pistons can withstand higher median pressures in more powerful motors. However, as steel has less capacity to conduct heat and with the reduction of the piston height to reduce weight, this means that the lubricant in the radial groove is subjected to temperatures exceeding 280 °C. Thus, the lubricant must ensure residue-free lubrication and heat transfer even when subjected to extreme heat, because carbon residues impair the mobility of the piston ring and can therefore le...
