Product description

: In order to achieve a broader acceptance of electro mobility in the future, innovative energy converters must be developed. As an example a Methanol High Temperature Fuel Cell and a range extender with Homogeneous Charge Microwave Ignition (HCMI) is on display.

The integration of a High Temperature Fuel Cell into an electric vehicle is presented as a current student project of Campus Horb. Siqen's Ecoport 800 fuel cell is designed to provide power solutions in off-grid, stationary applications with a reliable and clean energy source. In the context of student work, the mobile application in a vehicle will be examined. Due to the noise and exhaust gas pollution, internal combustion engines as range extenders lose expectance in urban areas, and the desire for a reliable replacement is becoming stronger. With the highly innovative energy generator Ecoport 800 a replacement is available in the near future.

As an example of research transfer, a microwave ignition system is presented, an innovative ignition system for internal combustion engines. Thanks to the cooperation with the Innovation Campus in Empfingen, state-of-the-art research facilities are available to DHBW. With the MWI AG as a research partner located there, it was possible for the first time worldwide, to show the improvements in a real test engine on the dynamometer.
