What will photography be like tomorrow? How could camera manufacturers react to the challenges posed by smartphones? Designers from the the integrated design program in Dessau look into the future from different perspectives and offer surprising solutions.Dramatic decline in sales and mass layoffs are consequences of failed product policy by camera manufacturers. At the same time, the just 10 year old smartphone seems to have reached the peak of its marketing. What solutions can design students offer, if photographers, interaction designers and communication designers start looking into the future together? The surprising results touch all major research areas like computer sciences, media technology, physics, social sciences up to tourism. They include aspects of sharing, remembering, deap learning, emotion, image optimisation and idealisation, augmented reality (AR), wearables, brain-to-computer interfaces, artificial intelligence (AI), and more.
