Product description

For manufacturers, service providers and operators of elevators and escalators, it is important to know the current maintenance state of their assets, and ideally to anticipate imminent outages. ZIFA, a diagnostic system for condition-based maintenance of elevators and escalators, is the
simplest way to upgrade heterogeneous legacy equipment for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. In contrast to common solutions, which forward data from the control unit, ZIFA directly measures
wear and tear on different components using additional sensors, thus enabling deep insights into utilization and condition of the asset.
Since ZIFA does not depend on data from the control unit, it is compatible with assets from all manufacturers and of any age. Installation can be
carried out in the course of regular maintenance.

Depending on the desired confi guration, sensors are put in place on the elevator cabin and in the control cabinet. The sensors measure, for example,
acceleration forces, vibrations, electrical energy consumption, noise and environmental parameters. Installation is carried out without mechanical
changes. If necessary, the system can be removed without a trace.

Data collected at the assets is transmitted to a central location, e.g. via GSM or UMTS. A webbased platform is used to visualize the state of all
assets over time. Naturally, integration into existing maintenance systems is possible, too. In order to implement data transmission to the server as cost-effi cient as possible, data is preprocessed on site. Buffering data locally allows retrieving all raw data retrospectively and ensures data is also transmitted to the server if the connection is temporarily disrupted.

KPIs are already calculated on site using microcontroller technology. These KPIs represent the degree of wear and tear of various components, such as doors, guidance rails and others. In addition, statistical information on asset utilization is collected, e.g. travel profile.
