The SeRoNet project is a network of ten partners from research and industry sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy with the aim of opening up new, more efficient ways of developing (service) robot solutions for a variety of tasks in medium-sized businesses.
Key aspects are:
(1) an online platform "https://www.robot.one" to bring together users and providers for (service) robot applications as well as robot component providers , to collaboratively design, implement and deploy novel robot application.
(2) a model driven development approach and respective tools for modular robot systems
(3) a unified, industry 4.0 compatible runtime environment based on OPC UA
SeRoNet,. with its online platform "robot.one" aims to increase market transparency in the domain of developing and commissioning (service) robot applications, to open new markets for system integrators and component providers alike, and to offer users of novel robotic solutions a one-stop shop where to find technical solutions and the right business partner for new robot and automation projects.
Utilizing modern development tools, based on international standards and agreed "best practices" from the field for model driven development and formal test of modular software systems, it creates a development process, where the first system design can already be realized economically and technically without many iterations. The classic linear value chain is replaced by a value added network in which manufacturers, system integrators and end users cooperate dynamically as actors in the development and operation of service robots.
