In the project SmartEPark, the FZI researches with its project partners various concepts and methods for intelligent car park management systems, which can cooperate with vehicles of various degrees of automation. For this purpose, a joint environmental model of the real car park needs to be created in order to provide optimal information about all vehicle types and to efficiently assign parking spaces. For the car park of the future, the FZI researches:
• Distribution of intelligence between car park management system and vehicle
• Fusion of sensor data of infrastructure and vehicles, also of various sensor types, such as camera, lidar and radar, into a joint environment model
• Efficient use of existing charging infrastructures through independent reparking of vehicles after charging
• Open and standardised communication between vehicle and infrastructure in order to make the service available for vehicles regardless of the manufacturer
